the point of Asuna thinking of IA’s rights are fundamentally solid. We are humans cause we have a "soul", created by a lot of sinapsis in our brain, wich means, our souls are electrical signals who works properly with another ones. Then that electrical signals, can be transformed in other signals (chemicals, physicals, etc) to make us talk, move, and work. If an IA can simulate that electrical behavior, and form a "soul" independently of a physical body, what are the difference to us, apart of having a physical existence? the physical life form are a phase, we died and our physical body just desintegrate in other molecules, so it’s not permanent, the body just let us translate, talk, eat, etc, but our brain it’s the more important thing. When someones have brain death, it’s cataloged as "really dead". (Also, they have his "daughter", Yui, and if they consider an IA inferior to a human, they also consider Yui as a program, and inferior to all biological things).
When you talk about "youtube algorithms have rights?", well, Y.Algorithms and the derivated, for what they said, is considered as an IA, but a top botton down IA, which means its a program developed to solve problems, categorize, etc, with a determinate parameter, but can’t solve an unexpected thing when it happen, cause the IA wasn´t trained in advance for such develop. They’re talking about a bottom up inteligence, so they put a "white paper" in a world with a own sociocracy, biology, natural laws, etc, already setted (like ours).

so, seeing you’re reactions at that part of the chapter, make me a little cringy, cause you don´t think more far away.
(yeah, it’s a bit early to try to think about a future where a physical body doesn’t make you a human, but your soul categorized as a human, yes)
    PD: srry my engrishu.

If AI rights didn’t matter that would mean the life of their daughter Yui doesn’t matter. That’s why they are so against it.

The ai’s in this world are not just "data" they are physically copies of the human brain. They are not just algorithms like a gigapet as they are self aware. The ai live in the underworld and have a life.

You can’t really make such a huge generalization about a nation liking a series. You just can’t. Lmao. Life isn’t so black and white that someone can easily say, "Japan likes it" or "Japan doesn’t like it." IMO that just sounds retarded XD.

you guys are saying that it’s only data, that’s because you don’t understand the difference between a weak AI and a strong AI. Youtube’s algorithm is a weak AI. The AI in this SAO season are strong AI. We haven’t developed and announced publicly a strong AI yet. And we are in 2019. That’s because everyone is trying to make AI from top->bottom. AI programmers that look to create strong AI (comparable to a human) should have figured this by now. Ok if they didn’t this anime is so great for giving us the idea, it’s just that we’ll never ever be able to replicate a human’s brain digitally. So we need to figure a bottom->top way to create AI other than what they do in this show.

The only difference between a human and an AI that can feel emotions is that, one only experiences emotions through electric pulses and chemicals and the other experiences emotions through code. The Youtube Algorithm doesn’t feel emotions so it doesn’t need rights but it would be un-ethical if an AI capable of feeling emotions was enslaved just because its mechanical instead of biological

Kayaba Akihiko was dead months before SAO was cleared in Season 1… Still… Heathcliff existed up until SAO was cleared… Also… Kayaba was inside ALO where he goaded Kirito into hacking and using his Heathcliff account to beat Sugou/ Oberon… We got Kayaba’s Cyber Ghost going around VRMMO Worlds made from "The Seed"… with Augma from Ordinal Scale allowing people to see AR Idol Yuna who is an AI Copy of Dr. Shigemura’s daughter that died in SAO… And Rath seems to be a huge version of that Chamber Shigemura used to "talk" to his dead daughter one last time in the real world… Rinko’s vision of Kayaba at the end of the episode might not be a dream… She might have seen Cyber Ghost Kayaba…

Add in the fact that the series Accel World supposedly uses tech Kirito created… Kirito will survive this Arc…

The entire show which is about fluctlights which are supposedly just data that are capable of comprehending emotions and being able to learn and reason towards others and themselves and popo out of nowhere compares them to his batteries like wtf was that. This is why I never took them seriously on their reviews, popo here getting influenced by joutens reaction and jouten being a fucking drama queen.

I hope you guys get a chance to see this comment.
In the part where you guys start laughing and getting annoyed at what asuna was saying about AI rights, you guys seem misinformed or in a way ignorant. The reason Asuna believes AI should have their own rights is because these AI in this “game” aren’t normal computer programs. They are clones of the minds of real people. So basically if you cloned your own mind and placed it in the “game”, they would grow up believing they are their own person. They would be a normal human. The only difference between you and your cloned mind is that you exist in the real world. But if the cloned mind were to get a body in the real world, wouldn’t they be considered human too? They aren’t data which u can simply create, they are way more complex than computer programs.

I hope that explanation helped on why asuna thinks the way she does. I believe she is absolutely right. You guys seem to think she is referring to computer program AI, but she isn’t. The people she is referring to are cloned humans basically… that you can’t be “coded”. They have memories of their own growing up and living. They have emotions, ….they have everything you have.

Another way to look at this is… what if the real world was a “game” and we were the AI’s… and people from the “outside” tried to argue we weren’t human when we thought and lived just like them. We would obviously deny being simple programs and fight for our rights.

The scientists in this anime want to force the cloned humans into machines by extracting them to the real world to use for war apparently. Which is why they made this “game”. To me this sounds unfair and even more reason to get them rights.

If you follow their logic to its ultimate conclusion, Kirito is dead and they’re turning his body into an AI-controlled zombie.

What if one day you were told you were an AI all along, and some wants to unplug you? Do you have rights?

  47. Life’s True Way

Allow me explain why I think you guys are utterly wrong:

A.) The show is addressing a very major question. What are we as human species going to consider forms of valid life in our near future?
Humanity is approaching the “god” field and must face “god” morality.
We are getting to the point that we can create various forms of what seems to be life.
We can create AI programs, AI Robots, and cloning/tube birthing is even a thing which is what Boruto is addressing. With these doors opening up, humanity must soon face a moral decision of what can be accepted a valid sentient life forms.
Is it that which has a physical form? Is it that which is biological? Is it that which is capable of complex thought? Where is the line & why are we putting it there?

B.) The comparison between an animal & the programs was made, but it can be argued that the programs actually have a higher level of consciousness than animals. So, if animals deserve rights, why not an intelligence that is capable of reflecting on those rights?

C.) It was stated that the fluctlight AI deserve rights in their world, but not ours. To say that would be to submit that you have no rights in comparison to whatever created you. Whatever is the creator of Humanity can do with us as it pleases.
Being that I’m a Christian, I submit to that idea in entirety.
I also mod Skyrim & have managed to simulate interesting levels of AI in that simple program…. and then went on a slaughter fest. Without feeling remorse. That’s a creator complex, but am I wrong for that? Are we just data in the eyes of our creator?

D.) It’s not wild for Asuna to feel that sentiment seeing as she has YUI, which is their AI daughter they got from SAO. She sees YUI as a valid life form & therefore has a legitimate attachment to her. It’s more than reasonable that because of YUI, Asuna’s sentiment for AI being living being would transfer over.

? again with constructive criticism and just bashing, Im not against to saying that it sucks as long as youre not being prejudiced and actually thought out, but this? Have you not been hearing what she was saying? Although they said ‘AI’ its closer to that of an actual human brain. Its not just data. they literally said they ‘copied’ the soul, all the emotions and thought process of an actual human. She has a point when she was talking about ‘rights’
