Lol, I still don’t know why they think Bert and Reiner care who’s running the government. Also, now go back and watch the half season teaser that you guys stupidly skipped over to see how nothing it was.

The way I see it is that ‘Serumbowl’ which is the name these chapters were given and have been called ever since this happened 3 years ago in the manga, it all really was a situation that was almost entirely dictated by the characters own personal emotions. Nobody in the situation was truly thinking about what’s best for humanity even though they definitely all cared about that, their own personal feelings for the people were what dictated their emotions and decisions.

Eren and Mikasa were so torn up over Armin’s sacrifice that they disobeyed military command and physically attacked a superior and even tried to take the serum from Levi by force when it was his decision to make in the first place.
Everything Levi did this episode was swayed by his own personal emotions, from wanting to save Erwin to then letting him rest, even his decision was made on behalf of Erwin not for humanity or Armin.
Floch was traumatised after the suicide charge and was fanatically raving about how humanity needed a demon, ironically his words that he was saying to save Erwin ultimately ended up playing a part in Levi’s decision to let Erwin rest, seriously look at Levi’s expression at times when he hears Floch call Erwin a demon.
If I had to say anyone it was Hanji who was really the most calm and rational person during the whole situation, breaking up the fight, she never became hysterical with emotion like the others and listed the reasons why they still need Erwin. That’s what I love about this scene though, everything about it is all so human, there’s just so much raw emotion in it, in a situation where the fate of humanity is on the line, everyone still lets their personal feelings intervene and cloud their judgement because they’re human beings and they can’t always be completely rational when the fate of somebody they love is on the line.

Even Levi’s last decision was decided off his own personal emotions. He didn’t save Armin because he thought he was best for humanity, he chose to let Erwin die so he could finally rest after all the hell he had been put through. He literally put what was best for Erwin over what was best for humanity.

It was a selfish choice he made for someone he loved. And that’s why I love everything about this whole scene so much!

Finally Erwin didn’t reject the serum. He was unconscious the entire time and had no idea what was going around him. The reason he raised his arm was out of pure reflex since he was dreaming of raising his hand in class when he asked his father the question about the world which is what made Erwin’s dad tell him everything he knew which is what began Erwin’s quest for the truth of the world. In his last moments he was dreaming of the moment that started it all for him. I really don’t get how anyone interprets it as Erwin rejecting the serum.

Hmm bertholdt idk i feel like he was just unfortunate, yea he most likely had to die but he seemed genuine he accepted his role. At first he was cool with whoever won, but was terrified when he died.. Some back story would be great for him

I don’t think you should discount what the Beast Titan was saying simply because he’s antagonistic. You know little to nothing about Eren’s dad except that he forced his kid to become a titan and killed a family but with hardly much context behind it.

I think that’s one of things I enjoy about the story you can have characters with similar characteristics and talents. But that doesn’t mean they will produce the same results Armin is a smart cookie but he cannot handle pressure on the battlefield. He froze for one and half episodes and passed his responsibilities to Jean. Mikasa is a gifted soldier but still prioritises Eren and Armin over her squad. And I have yet to see her take down multiple Titans simultaneously and quickly. You might be able to rebound but your regiment will have lost people with the same talents and experience.

No idea what that King Erwin thing you were talking about is. There’s nothing like that in both the anime and manga. The anime does cut out stuff from the manga but it never goes a different direction story wise, it’s always following the manga’s direction.

I love how in this show, there’s never really a right choice or a wrong choice. You can only do what you feel you have to do, whether the results are more positive or negative for the future. You never really know what the future may hold. Also, A+ on the voice acting. Yuki Kaji is so amazing here.??

Just a heads up in case you guys weren’t informed yet, at the end of the next episode there is an important post-credit scene. It’s not a spoiler, it’s an extended scene that ties in with the following episode.
