   *SPOILERS*

   Dawg.. when Deku gave Bakugo One For All… the crowd lose their shit. Also, yeah… the MOVIE takes place MID-Season 5. It pretty much spoils Season 4’s finale obviously.. but at the same time it doesn’t lol

   You are right that people need to watch up to season 4, episode 16. However, I would extend your idea: they need to watch up to episode 19. Here’s why. There is a conversation with Deku & All Might in episode 19, and in that conversation Deku learns some more things about his powers. HIS NEW POWERS ARE USED IN THE MOVIE. So if you want that stuff to not "come out of nowhere" you need to see episode 19 for the backstory.

   The thing is that I watched this with an anime only fan and they didn’t even notice the major spoilers. So maybe most people just don’t notice it ??‍♀️
   But anyways, this movie was so good!!

   And I got so excited in that first scene with Dabi and Endeavor omg ?

   This movie takes place after some arcs that the anime hasn’t caught up to yet, so there are spoilers for season 5, some bigger than others.

   Everybody! THIS MOVIE is a MUST-WATCH! DO NOT MISS IT ON THEATRES! It is the best thing that the franchise has ever produced!
   It is unlike you have ever seen before from My Hero.
   Don’t forget to buy your tickets for the 26th!

   The author said it takes place after the most recent arc from the manga also it wasn’t a rumour this was the original ending

    Great film, not sure how the anime only viewers will feel about some of the handful of spoilers shown here for future seasons, but I guess some of those things were brought up so quickly it could have flown over several people’s heads

    The movie was ruined by the scene where Deku "gives up his power for all" and it’s supposed to be a sad scene, in all seriousness. It was insulting.
