Hey everyone! Here is my reaction/review for season 4, episode 12. I would really love it if I could make it through one ep without bawling!!!!!!!! :’P Izuku and Mirio are just unstoppable in their willpower and determination. And Nighteye……things can’t possibly end this way!!!! Good thing our gals show up at the end to help out! We really need a win right now! PLUS ULTRA!!!! Enjoy! ~ KRH

What a tough episode.
Oh btw, even if Overhaul manages to "fix" all the injuries the heroes suffered, I think it’s still implied that Mirio’s quirk is gone, permanently. So I don’t think there’s anything to restore on that part (as far as I know Overhaul can only destroy and recreate physical matter) 🙁
And I think Deku will be fine for the remainder of the show, or alive at least, because of his own narration in Season 1 and 2: "this is the story of how I became the world’s greatest hero" (paraphrase). So I’m counting on him to be alright. I hope.

I honestly don’t know how you didn’t notice that Nighteye was saying Overhaul was going to escape with Eri and both of them were going to die. Also in the dub they never mentioned Rock Lock’s wife was 4 years younger. Instead of saying genetics went 100% one way, they said he looks like you. And Toga instead said that if the 2 meet both sides would end up bloodied up and beaten down. Those 3 things I didn’t like of the dub. But the emotion Mirio’s Voice Actor put when Nighteye got impaled, you have to see it, so much emotion in just that one moment.

Sadly no. You said in order for Eri to be saved both Nighteye and Deku have to die. That’s not what was said, Nighteye told Deku "You can’t save Eri, I have seen the future, both you and me die while Overhaul gets away (with Eri of course)

I’m not gonna lie, Overhaul is making me wish I got to hear All for One’s opera music again, just a little. At least he was a guy I could love to hate, y’know? With Overhaul, every moment that passes without him being defeated is just painful.

Overhaul is the most evil villain the series has ever seen so far. Even All For One had some morals, he’s no anti-hero. Stain is an anti-hero as he didn’t just kill anyone and let some people live as he deemed worthy.

Is it wrong that I love how into the story you are that it brings you to tears? It’s been a long fight with so many characters doing their all to give this one little girl a chance to be saved, it’s heartbreaking to see her manipulated back to Chisaki. In all honesty, it took until I reread the manga just before this season for me to even realize Chisaki had used Nemoto’s truth-telling quirk to manipulate her answers in part because his abuse of her was so realistic her answers mimic what many abuse victims feel in similar circumstances – it’s their fault and if they behave the abuser won’t hurt others. In other words, he probably didn’t need the quirk to get her to come back.
Absolutely looking forward to next week’s reaction!

Overhaul’s grooming and manipulation techniques are the scariest thing about his character- more than his powers or anything else. The way he easily uses everyone around him and has such a hold on all of them, whilst feeling no compassion for them at all.
We’ve seen it with his subordinates, with Eri, and we see it with someone else important to him in the next episode as well. Watching him interact with Eri especially makes my stomach turn. And the scariest thing is that people like Overhaul do indeed exist. Horikoshi nailed the way people groom others (children especially) and presented it well.

the word for suffering in jp Nighteye mentioned is literally the same in chinese. Kun nan (kwun nan), which is another word for suffering/hardship/bitterness put together, it also can refer to misfortune/bad karma/bad luck.

She comes back…. not because shes only scared ,but because just like a heroe sacrifices himself for someone else,she prefers to sacrifice herself so that she can "save" everyone else…in a way all the HEROES are not just rescuing a kid,they are rescuing another hero ^-^ she not only ready to sacrifice her life,but to live a full horror life,just so that no one else needs to suffer besides her

Can I just say, I know its small, but when deku kicks the wall down for Lemillion and Eri to escape, I LOVE the image of the blood on her hands to mirror how Chisaki makes her feel inside when the’re trying to save her.
