I got the chance to see the new Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale in asia before it’s wide release in the west, so as no one else on YouTube has had a chance to speak about it yet, I thought I could be the first to review it!

I enjoy SAO even through all of its flaws because i see the potential it has to be a great anime. For all the things it gets so, so wrong, theres many things the show did right. The first episode of Season 3 just came out this week and for the first time in a while this series had me very curious where it was going to be taken.

says kirito becomes god. Kirito is weak as shit till last like 20 to 30 minutes of the movie and asuna is the better one this time and even in the last 20 30 minutes he is still mediocre and does things that a normal human could do

Okay, I know I am going to get blasted for this. But as someone not really into much Anime I watched SOA and rather liked it. [Minus some of the BS of season 2] But as a novice I have a question. Why does something like SOE, which I am not saying doesn’t have flaws, get so bashed, while something like DBZ gets such love? Because I tried so hard to watch DBZ and to me is was boring convoluted mess. I don’t want to watch someone scream for 2 episodes as they power up some ultimate move and then miss. It was so far over the top in many ways, and most of them weren’t good. But then if I say that outloud it’s like I walked into a church and told them Jesus himself was an overrated hack. I have watched some of the abridged DBZ and found that funny, as was the SOA versions. But I just don’t get what the "community" deems a good anime, but sometimes the supposed "good" ones just seem like they aren’t.

Well Kirito’s “obstacle” wasn’t really a obstacle in the first place because his brain and body still was used to the movements in VR he just had to pull it out which took a little bit of practice and that is all he really did and he became god again. Well that’s what I’m assuming because when Kirito first got out of SAO he had improved on his kendo fighting. I don’t remember but I think they said he was holding back when fighting his sister but idk.

So the new season is close to airing and I saw on mal that this season follows volumes 9 to 18 from the light novel. I’m really curious how they do that since the arc is the longest arc so far, and also the darkest arc. I just hope they won’t rush it but I’m afraid they will seeing how much of the light novel they shove in this one season 🙁 this arc could maybe ‘save’ sao but I don’t think it will

The first time I watched SAO I got annoyed 50% of the time… But when I watched it the second time, I wasn’t cause I already knew what was going to happen… So I don’t know if I got enjoyment out of it… meh

It was too long, cut It from 2 hours to 1 hour and 20 mins. It’s easy, cut the random slow walking around town, give kirito longer training montage. Instead of the Father trying to get memories back they should have a rich creator who helped make sao try and erase ppls memories who saw him commit a horrible crime in sao. Or have Kayaba rebooted by the number 2 to have a second chance to prove himself in sao because he wanted to challenge the best who looked down on him

It would have been cooler for the fight with Kasuto and Edgy (xD) to have been longer, and maybe another battle before that, in which edgy wins, just to give more depth to the threat of him. Also it would have been cool if Kirito had just a couple more badass moments, maybe him having to fight the level 100 boss all by himself for a minute or so, or him getting thrown through a few more walls lol. I really liked the parts where asuna and kasuto were together, and the fight scenes. Also maybe just maybe a badass moment from like Sinon or something?

SAO’s Aincrad Arc was good. But the series lost it’s actual drive, and this sort of brought it back. I say sort of, but it still fell short in shortcoming that were already existent. My rating is a 4.5/10. I loved the ending fight though, minus Incest is Wincest’s boob shot. I don’t mind fan service, but in your face fanservice is annoying when things are trying to be serious.
