This was such a good review! I mean, they generally are, but this one seemed to be particularly well-written and edited. You really did MHA justice here. I agree with what you said about the show having a lot to examine. Personally, I’ve watched like ten video essays on it since I’ve watched it because unpacking all the details about why it works so well is fascinating to me. I’m anxiously awaiting season three.

Its a great anime but it messed itself up when in season 1 and 2 they mention that midoriya becomes the greatest hero of all time thus giving him plot armor that he cant get seriously hurt. FYI: I know he gets hurt but he always recovers and later on he gets a "sidekick" to just reverse the downside of his quirk. They should have kept the element that he is not invincible.

One thing to note is that there is a cannon prequel series called "my hero academia illegals/vigilante" written by a different author that is also ongoing, so when they eventually catch up to the manga they can hopefully make a season of that to give the manga a bit of time to move forward.

I would not mind bones going back and creating a second BNHA series the way they did for FMA and FMAB. Im in the minority that believes you should watch both FMA and FMAB and you better believe that I’ll watch both!
