I can’t stop comparing to Ashita no jo. But I loved that the kids are not just for the comical relief and have a use for Joe. Hopefully the equivalent of Nitshi the Géant dude won’t be relevant to the plot.

the soundtrack at the end when Joe delivers the fatal blow is phenomenal, and we haven’t even seen a real melagobox ring fight

Seen a few people mention that the red candy could be drugs which actually does make a whole lot of sense. I just took it as they were homeless and didn’t get the joys of being kids so having candy gave them that escape from reality but thinking about it drugs would make the most sense in this world.
