I see nothing here except your own personal opinions, which you have mistaken as absolute fact. It is not. Your knowledge of how game development works seems to be only from a player’s standpoint, and not from someone who actually develops games, which invalidates your "facts" and "observations". From a developer’s standpoint, let me simply explain that you are wrong. The graphics are not "the same". The models and motion capture are clearly running off of a next/current gen engine developed solely for this game. The story is being expanded upon, something which cannot be done simply by "patching it into the current game" as you seem to imply. This is not an MMO, it is an RPG Fighter with an Online Component, which is a genre of game that operates on a different set of programming than things like CoD and WoW. The battle system is incredibly polished and has been developed carefully and painstakingly over the last few years to be both unique and worthy of current-gen technology. Which it is. The fact that you’re whining about it by comparing it to things of the past serves only to prove that the only thing you want is the same shit, over and over again. That’s not how you make money. You make money by releasing familiar content with updated graphics and new gameplay elements. Something which Xenoverse proved capable of by reviews alone. Keep your opinions to yourself if you feel the need to spread them as fact. Because your "facts" are wrong.

I feel like this game was held back. Why? Well, for the fact that it got released on 7th gen. *SIGH*, why was it released on PS3 and 360? Just…WHY? PS4 and Xbox One exist for a reason! We don’t need to have a watered down game in favor for an weaker system! I understand that some people can’t afford the consoles, but….PC exists. I can assure you, EVERYONE has a PC. I have the PC version on my desktop! And if you have a strong computer, PC will run fine! But sadly, this game had to be limited, otherwise, the 7th gens would explode. If their gonna release a sequel, DON’T PUT IT ON 7TH GEN. Push the 8th gens and PC to their limits! I want the sequel to be released to it’s full potential! Someone call Old Kai!

personally i like transformations being power ups, look at the budokai games for example, i don’t like how they did it here though, as it just makes thegame a spam fest, you know, like the tenkaichi and raging blast games, thankfully they fixed it in xenoverse 2, also, correct me if i’m wrong, but for some reason it seems that once a character drops out of ss3, their stats diminish, horray for show accuracy

I completely agree with you, this game is missing a lot of things and i really hate how there is no ss3 and ss4. I bought this game thinking this game was going to have a lot of characters like in bt3 and a lot of cool things but it didnt. I would rather get DBZ Raging Blast 2. And I am sick and tired of the people who dick ride this horrible game, the second one is coming out….Goodbye Dragon Ball Z.

this game looks awesome. I have played more than a few MMOs and currently play a mmo (ffxiv). final fantasy 14’s RNG sounds a lot like this.. actually a lot of MMOs RNG sounds a lot like this. this type of RNG is far from unusual in the MMO community, I do understand why players and true fans of action games like dbz would be a little unsatisfied with these type of RNG mechanics though. some players would want be handed something fairly quick, rather than putting a little extra time and effort into obtaining the drop. thanks for the review omega, I found it helpful. this is the first video I’ve watched of yours but I plan on checking out your channel some more in a bit. happy holidays

There is also that damn stage where you are suppose to get a dragon ball and it’s off the map, so you are suppose to blow up a rock but it never shows up! Hated that

After playing this game for a year, I can say i’m glad I got this game. I still play it and I’m having fun, but the only downsides I see with this game are the PVP modes, the cheap A.I in some missions, and the overreliance on Super Armor. I know some people are giving this game flack for that and they’re right to do so. PVP mode should be avoided overall especially on the PC version since most players hack and can instantly regain their health even when you have the upper hand. Also 3-minute time limit. As for A.I. try completing Parallel Quest 47 on your own when all the characters excluding, the non-saiyans and Kid Trunks spam their ultimates over and over again. Thank god for the option to take on these quests with friends. Super Armor with some characters make sense like Beerus, Whis, and Broly, but some don’t even need it. It’s an 8/10 for me: an experiment that took a lot fo risks and paid off for the most part. I just hope the developers take a good long look into what the community wants and doesn’t want to be included for Xenoverse 2 when it comes out in November.

great review but I thought the game was awesome. It has room for improvement sure, but I haven’t played a dbz game since Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi for the ps2. I skipped a whole console generation of dbz games. This game is way better than anything on the ps2. I know I have low standards but things have really come a long way. Back in 2001 I drove 2 hours to this mall so that I could spend 80$ on a mod plug and a japanese version of db gt final bout for ps1. The game was total garbage but we were happy to have any kind of dbz game back then. I can’t believe how far things have come.

Just watched this review again in anticipation of XV2. And my god, this review is so spot on. The rng, the min maxing of CaC, the lack of orginal characters and them being only side characters, the weird transformation system,… just everything you said was so spot on.

I was hoping it would have mechanics like Sonic sway or homing dash but we get like 3 combos that aren’t much to do with which leads to very easy infinite combos. Not to mention certain things in the game feel stiff. Like the ki charging is always the same pose for every character or no ki charging at all sense you have to equip it. Not to mention the facial expressions when ki charging just look normal .-. The raging blast series is very distinct with the facial expressions. This goes for CaC as well very little to work with after you’ve played the game for so long.you can’t customize your fighting style either which is a shame because I hate the male saiyans combos. The game has potential, though It might take a while to improve the second sense many fans (like me) went crazy detailed in the survey. SO most likely we’ll get a way improved xenoverse 2.
-I personally hope there’s a Christmas Update where we have more options for Cac like more hairstyles or SSj4 type of eyes with the red outlines-

This game is better off without the RNG because this irritates me when it comes to doing parallel quests getting, Dragon Balls/Skills/Equipments, and finding time patrollers. This can get irritating because at times I have found time patrollers in training and I have beaten them and gotten a dragon ball, just to have it get taken away from me because I failed the mission!

They wouldn’t change the original main story theme of dbz ever. The only things bandai can do is add a new story to the franchise like what dragonball super is doing. Fans of the dbz franchise would go nuts and start with the haterade if they change the story completely. I like the story to stay the same as much as possible, majority of us has and can always rewatch the whole entire dragonball anime saga over and over again with no complaints. The only thing they have change with dbz games in general is the type of moves or ki blast available to use at a time.
