The thing it shpws during the half way point of each ep is a rule of the death note one that wasn’t talked about in the anime. (there are like 100 or 200-ish rules I think)

There are rules in the Shinigami world and penalties for breaking those rules with 9 levels of punishment starting at with least severe at 8 and going up to 1 then the extreme level. For crimes punishable at level 3 and above penalties the Shinigami is put to death. For example killing a human by means not employing a Death Note is crime punishable by the extreme level of punishment.

I am currently rewatching the show, but unless Light killed the two officers who were at the reception desk of the task force, L should have already figured out who Kira is. Hear me out: L learns Naomi committed suicide. He is intrigued by this because he has worked with her before and knows she is a determined and smart person. So he looks into it. Who was the last person she saw? He will learn, by the two cops in the reception, that she left with Light Yagami. Light Yagami is also the person Ray Penber was ordered to follow around. He is also the son of the chief of police which could possibly explain how he has access to police information, and coupled with his brilliancy which everyone recognizes, it leaves no room for doubt that Light is Kira. It also matches with him being a student. So technically L shouldn’t have come out in the open afterwards.

During the interviews when L decided whether they’re Kira or not, I assume he questioned them to see if they fit the profile. So far L knows that Kira is childish and hates loosing, but there’s no doubt he’s also picked up on Kira’s intelligence and God complex. He most likely tested them based on that information, but I don’t know exactly how he did it.

"L reminds me of Quatre Raberba Winner from GW" Damn nostalgia trip out of nowhere. The funny thing is that Quatre and LIGHT share the same voice actor. Really some cognitive dissonance between those two roles. Funny because Quatre is an empathetic (literally) soldier who, in his right state of mind gave his enemies chances to surrender while they tried their best to kill him. Heck even when his mind was altered by a psychedelic war machine (oversimplified way to describe the zero system) he warned cities to evacuate before very politely destroying ferris wheels and junk. Even then he still warned everyone that came near him that he was going to kill them. Most restrained psychotic warpath ever. In contrast, Light at this point kills without a second thought. His enemies are basically obstacles. It’s scary that Light has such a inviting persona and pleasant voice. He uses that as another weapon to manipulate the people around him. He justifies it but he is beyond the point of feeling empathy towards others. He looked straight into Raye Penber’s eyes during the man’s last moments without blinking.

Ray’s fiancee’s deductive prowess is very good, and doesn’t rely on reaching. You just have to remember that Ray has basically kept her in the loop the entire time, so she knows a lot more about the situation than she should. So she already knew enough to reason that the coincidence was too coincidental.

Here’s one thing to point out regarding L later. They never go into it in the tv series, so it’s not a spoiler. L is a liar, so when he says that someone is suspicious at a low percentage, he means the exact opposite.

You gotta think… Light could have gotten away with everything without a fight, if he just didn’t provoke L at the beginning, or if he started out targeting criminals in other countries. Sure, I get it.. he had to make sure it worked, but after that he could have watched the news from other countries to make sure people couldn’t look at a map and say "Holy shit, a lot of heart attacks in that city! Let’s check it out!"
Just saying, if I was in Light’s shoes, I’d be checking out the news in the UK, Canada, or at the very least in New York, California, or Texas. Doing local news is like broadcasting to the world that the killer is right in this area.
