A response to a bad Death Note review
My initial script for the death note review that went up yesterday was almost a response video to Adam’s (YMS) video about the movie, but I managed to find a worse one before it was all said and done.
Maybe all those people that want to rip on my RWBY reviews can learn something from this video.

I honestly love both Fatmanfalling and Cosmonaut they’re both some of favorite reviewers on YouTube. I will say that Cosmonaut has said some just wrong criticism. For example, saying how Luke Skywalker is a Gary Stu in the OT compared to Rey being a Mary Sue in the new Trilogy. Luke would get his ass whoop several times and would always need help. While Rey would fix all her problems and excel through all her challenges.
What I’m saying is don’t hate Cosmonaut or Fatmanfalling for their criticisms. They’re good dudes and I wouldn’t want any beef between them. You don’t have to agree with everything a reviewer talks about. However, you do have to tell difference between valid and invalid criticisms.

How to make a review.
Step 1: Look on the Internet to find out if the most vocal opinion is that it’s good or bad
Step 2: Look up writing terms so that you sound smart
Step 3: Make a 10+ min video where you basically just say the first bullshit that comes to mind but it gets accepted since it’s supporting the vocal opinion.
That’s basically 90% of review channels.

The events in the show happen that quickly cos it’s a 20 minute episode that key events have to be established in the first episode. The films events should be more spread out because its a film and its longer. Also pacing isn’t the same as run time, you can dislike the pacing of a film but still appreciate the run time being fairly short. Most of your points were stupid ngl but don’t wanna write an essay. Don’t make up complaints about a review just because you don’t agree with it

This movie is actually rather passable as far as adaptations go. It’s miles better than hot garbage like the live action FMA because it actually tries to be it’s own movie (except when it’s not but that’s a live adapt for you).
It wasn’t particularly good but more live adaptations need to treat themselves as their own thing and do stuff that actually works for the medium being used. This movie comes off better for me because it doesn’t actually ruin any of the "original scenes" aside from the main character being called Light when he’s really far less egomaniacal and more teenage than the original character. They could’ve just scrapped the same names and let this be a story about one of Ryuk’ s partners before or after the events of the original.
